For me, the practice of herbalism is art, magic, myth and science. It is a courtship of unhurried intimacy and generosity—deeply and tenderly held by the ancient ones and a practice of hope in troubled times.

I began formal study of herbal medicine in 2018 in Austin, Texas. There, I studied with Ginger Webb (her main teacher was Michael Moore) later serving as a teaching apprentice at the Sacred Journey School of Herbalism from 2020-2023. SJS trains herbalists primarily in Western herbal medicine tradition, physiology, holistic energetic systems, and nutrition. I began working with clients while living in Austin, where I was fortunate to build an apothecary and formulate medicines for friends and community.

Following a dream in which Ocotillo (Fouquieria splendens) appeared as guide for my own personal healing journey, I commuted to the Sonoran Desert for nine months to apprentice with John Slattery, a teacher I knew had worked extensively with Ocotillo. One of John’s primary teacher was Doña Olga Ruíz Cañez, a medicine woman and Pajarera from Sonora, Mexico. John also deeply studied Vitalism—our individual nature explored through the lens and cycles of the natural world, Bioregional Herbalism, and ancestral medicine ways. My ancestral medicine lead me to Benedicaria, the blessing way of Southern Italian folk medicine, and my primary teacher in that lineage Gail Faith Edwards (Blessed Maine Herb Farm).

In 2024, my family and I relocated to Central Vermont. I see clients on land in Plainfield, Vermont as well as on line by phone or zoom. I am continuing my herbal medicine study at The Vermont Center for Integrative Herbalism.

I hold a master of fine arts degree in theatre from the University of Texas at Austin and have served as a tenant organizer with BASTA (Building and Strengthening Tenant Action) as well as artistic director at Gathering Ground Theatre, a theatre performance and advocacy group for folks experiencing homelessness. My work as an herbalist is integrated with my commitment to social and environmental justice. I support movements towards self-determinism, justice, and collective liberation.

I am a proud team member of The Rainbow Serpent Dreamers Society.
